Why Procreate?
• Are you an artist looking to expand your creative toolkit?
• Have you heard about or seen people ‘drawing and painting’ on their iPad and want to learn how?
• Would you like to have your own portable digital painting and drawing studio with you, wherever you go?
Then Procreate on the iPad may be perfect for you.
Procreate for the iPad is an amazingly mobile and versatile, creative tool. Procreate on iPad, gives you a powerful, portable adaptable canvas perfect for sketching, painting, developing ideas, working from and adapting photographs, tracing images, presenting images and so much more. Whether you’re sketching ideas on the fly, creating detailed illustrations, or painting digital masterpieces, the iPad offers a seamless and flexible platform to bring your artistic creations to life.
As one of my students said recently, “It’s like having my studio plus Photoshop in my backpack wherever I go!”
What’s Paul’s Procreate workshop offer?
What’s Possible with Procreate?

About Paul Macklin
Paul is a passionate artist, art teacher and creative mentor. In his sixty-eight years he has expressed his creativity as poet, musician, potter, painter, actor, graphic designer and creative director. He draws inspiration from the unique qualities of the Australian landscape and annual excursions to
the mountain desert of Arkaroola, Hawkesbury River, forests and coastline of the Central Coast. Paul has been engaged in group and solo exhibitions in Sydney and the Central Coast and was finalist in 2019 and 2021 in the Gosford Art Prize. Paul’s art balances traditional elements of draftsmanship, structure and form with the creative
interplay of abstraction and expression inspired from landscape, figure and dreams. “I began using the iPad when I first returned to art making about a decade ago. At that time I was continually traveling, and the iPad was so convenient – in many ways it was like having my studio with me. I’m on my iPad every day now, either sketching, or working out some idea for a painting or using the iPad and Procreate as a teaching tool. The iPad and Procreate are fantastic ways to both deepen and expand your art making practice.”
