Learn to meditate in a gentle, compassionate and light-hearted environment, where every level of experience is welcome.
Over the three sessions, you will get to explore different meditation techniques that are perfect for beginners and give you an opportunity to experiment with different styles.
During the class, you will experience a 10 min and a 20 min meditation with quiet background music and have ample time for discussion and questions.
Lauren will also answer your questions and give tips on topics such as:
• what are the best types of meditations for beginners?
• how do I manage my busy mind/restless body/sleepiness/strong emotions when meditating?
• how do I set up a personal home practice that is realistic?
• what should I do if I feel anxious or overwhelmed when meditating?
In these classes, Lauren uses a non-impositional approach and will empower you to honour your own body and make choices for your practice based on this. If you are looking for a strict, silencing of the mind and sitting still in lotus position kind of class, then my approach is not for you.
Exchange:
Pay what your heart feels.
Come to all three or book in for one.
To get the most out of this series it is recommended that you attend all three classes.
Bookings:
Please book via:
the website or email
Please bring:
The studio has some yoga mats and bolsters. Please feel free to bring your own yoga mat, cushion and props to ensure you will be comfortable. You may also wish to bring a light blanket and a journal and pen.
Folding chairs available for those who need extra support.
Accessibility:
Access to the studio is via either stairs next to cafe or a wheelchair-friendly ramp. There is a rail on stairs but not on the ramp though it is only a small incline.
Upon signing up please let us know if there is anything we can do to make these classes more accessible to you.
Please note:
For sensitivity to fragrances the studio usually runs a diffuser with native or calming/balancing oils prior to the meditation class. However, it will not be running during the meditation class and we ask that people do not wear or bring strong fragrances.
