Aged Care - The Basics
The first session, Aged Care - The Basics, will discuss how care is initiated and accessed through MyAgedCare and the different forms of government-funded care available. It will be hosted by RetireAustralia’s Care team at Glengara Retirement Village on Tuesday, November 12 at 2pm.
The second session, Aged Care - The Experts, introduces a panel of local professional advisors who specialise in helping people with the financial, legal and practical considerations of transitioning to aged care. This second session will be held at Glengara on November 22 at 10am.
RetireAustralia Home Care Manager Nick Palmer said the information sessions were part of RetireAustralia’s commitment to helping families identify the right pathways to care and the various levels of support and assistance available.
“The importance of early discussion and planning for the possibility of aged care for a loved one is fundamental to ensuring as smooth a transition as possible when the time comes,’’ Mr Palmer said.
“Everyone is invited to attend these free events, which provide valuable access to a range of experts in various sectors of the aged care industry.
“They will provide an overview of care options and tips on how to plan and fund retirement and aged care. There will also be opportunities at both sessions for attendees to ask questions on matters they are keen to better understand.’’
The Experts session will feature Sarah Hall, of TBA Financial Services, Ivan Kent, of Kent Law Group and Jenni Olyslagers of Transition Angels, who specialise in assisting people to downsize and move from their existing properties into their new homes.
