Wet weather forces SportsFest 2019 event cancellation
SportsFest was planned to run this weekend 21-22 September at EDSACC Bateau Bay but adverse weather has affected the event site, including the feasibility of setting up a mass participation event and the safety of participants.
SportsFest will not be rescheduled for 2019, however Council will continue to work with Sporting and Recreation Associations and Organisations across the Coast to promote and encourage new ways to get active, improve quality of life and engage with the local community.
Council would like to thank all Sporting and Recreation Associations and Organisations, that were scheduled to participate in the event, for their support, understanding and cooperation.
Donations of used sports equipment as part of the ‘Be a Good Sport’ charity drive in the lead up to SportsFest Can still be received at our donation drop-off points as planned by Fair Game Australia – to local under serviced communities that need them most!
‘Be a Good Sport’ Donation Drop-Off Points extended until Monday 23 September:
- Central Coast Council administration buildings (Gosford and Wyong)
- Peninsula Leisure Centre, Woy Woy
- Gosford Olympic Swimming Pool
- Toukley Aquatic Centre
- Lake Haven Recreation Centre
- Niagara Park Stadium
