The Art House Celebrates Local Performers in the First Shows of 7 Months
Since mid-March The Art House has been closed to the public due to COVID-19, with shows cancelled and postponed, and the theatre seats empty. Through it all staff have been humbled and grateful for the support of its patron who have stuck by through constant reassessment and rescheduling.
So, since 2020 has turned the world upside down, The Art House are having some fun to welcome audiences back by turning the theatre upside down too. The Stage Door Cabaret Sessions will take place over four consecutive weekends with audiences entering through the Stage Door, getting a glimpse backstage, and then enjoying the show whilst sitting ON the stage at private tables with SMS bar service.
The performers are Central Coast entertainers to support the local artistic community, and include Greg Gould, Mel Lewin, Andrew Worboys, Pippa Grandison, Marney McQueen and Curtain Bounce hosted by Ruth Tiffen.

The Art House believe the Arts will only become more vital both to individuals, and to the creation of a culturally rich and vibrant community post-COVID. The Arts not only provide entertainment, but a voice to our experiences and emotions, an intimate connection, pride in heritage, and the sharing of cultural traditions.
The Art House will be taking this all to heart as they prepare to turn off their Ghost Light to open the show on Friday. A Ghost Light is a theatre tradition in which a single light remains lit when the theatre is unoccupied to keep both spirits and staff safe, and it has been glowing now for 7 months.
As The Art House reopens, we will see several COVID safe measures in place including reduced audience capacity, increased distance between patrons, and new ticket refund terms for patrons who are unwell.
