Tackling Roadside Litter Together
The Roadside Litter Project has identified three roadside litter hotspots along the motorway link: Blue Haven, Somersby Industrial Park and the Kariong M1 on ramp.
In-Car Tidy Bags
With the main litter identified as single use takeaway containers and drink containers, Council will be handing out 2500 in car tidy bags to local businesses as part of the project, to encourage motorists to keep their rubbish with them until they can dispose of it responsibly.
Local businesses who have come on board to give away the In-Car Tidy Bags to their customers include:
Olivers Real Food, Northbound and Southbound Caltex stopover F3 Fwy
The Times Cafe, Kariong
Kariong Library, Central Coast Council
All Coast Air Conditioning
Somersby General Store and Takeaway, Somersby
Xpresso mobile, Gosford
Caltex Peats Ridge

Reusable Cup Campaign
Disposable coffee cups are a major contributor to litter across the Central Coast. Reusable coffee cups are a better choice and it's easy to get into the habit of taking your reusable cup to your local cafe.
Central Coast Council is partnering with local responsible cafes to support the community in making simple changes to reduce litter. Council is providing partnering cafes with a limited number of reusable coffee cups to give away to regular customers, who would otherwise buy coffee in disposable cups.
Partnering Cafes Include:
Allagai Bay Cafe, Copacabana
Barber Shop Expresso, Toukley
Treble Clef Cafe, Umina Beach
Caffe Jam, East Gosford
Helado, Ettalong Beach
Fare Cravin' Cafe, Gosford
