Kath Morrison & Steve Smillie
Smillie assembles one of the finest contemporary ensembles around.

After sell-out concerts in 2016 and 2017, Steve Smillie returns on electric, acoustic and steel guitars, along with Danni Kelleher on vocals, Kath Morrison on trumpet, Natalie Morrison on Double Bass, John Morrison on Drums and Bill Risby on piano.

Audiences can expect an outstanding level of musicianship from this exciting line-up of musicians as they perform some originals from Steve, some new collaborations with fiancé Kath, jazz, blues, country and pop standards and some smooth jazz numbers from the late great Don Andrews.

Popular Conservatorium guitar teacher Steve Smillie has been performing professionally since the early 1970's. With origins in country music – he won Best Instrumentalist at Tamworth Country Music Festival on two occasions - Steve adds his laid back style to everything from pop to jazz to reggae.  He and powerhouse vocalist Danni Kelleher are regulars on the local music scene where they perform as “Open Fire”. He has supported many artists including Ian Moss, Daryl Braithwaite, Tim Freedman and Renee Geyer and has three guitar recordings: Speechless, After Glow and Happy to be Alive and has also produced a CD of songs written and performed with Kath Morrison called A Deeper Shade of Blue.

With dynamic drummer John Morrison, uber cool Natalie Morrison on stand-up bass, Sydney jazz legend Kath Morrison on trumpet and the exciting Bill Risby on keys, this is a concert for all live music enthusiasts.  Get your tickets early!

Join us for complimentary refreshments during interval.

This concert is present by the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music with the support of the Department of Education through the Regional Conservatorium Grants Program.
