Small Business Initiatives Forum

Next Tuesday 29th October, Central Coast Council is hosting a forum for small businesses on Sustainability and Energy Use.

Council’s Innovation and Performance Partner Adele Johns will facilitate a program of subjects and guest speakers including:

  • Energy 101: how to read, manage and reduce your energy bills.
  • Greg Gates will talk on how he has taken his manufacturing business to a monthly energy cost of $20.
  • Andrew Pearce, head of Councils Waste Division will talk what’s happening in waste on the coast.
  • Bruce Cottrill, Chairman of Sustainability Cluster will talk on how the green dollar is very real, plus what the Sustainability Cluster has been up to.
  • Paul Clemens will talk on how to manage your business when water restrictions bite.
  • Janene Flick and Kendal Caynes will provide an update on Councils Climate Change Action Plan.
  • How Council has achieved an estimated $5,400,000 in energy savings.
  • Anni Griffiths will discuss how business can prepare for disasters.

All local businesses who attend will also receive a free two-hour, one-on-one coaching session from an energy expert valued at $400.
