270 million people worldwide struggle with drug abuse and a staggering 3.3 million people die from their addiction each year! Not for profit organisation ONE80TC, reach and positively influence thousands of Australians each year who are impacted by addiction.

Providence Medical Group, Chief Operations Officer, Mark Caldwell is once again taking on the ONE80TC challenge of riding the 200+km Sydney to the Hunter Cycling Classic during October.

With a powerful Vision of “Rescuing People, Restoring Lives, and Rebuilding Families” ONE80TC is making a significant difference to the lives of those battling drugs. There's no discrimination when it comes to drugs, it affects all walks of life, not to mention their family, friends, work colleagues and more. ONE80TC exists to rescue young men and women, to restore their lives and help rebuild families.

The 19th Annual Sydney to the Hunter Cycling Classic is being held on October 26th and 27th. Each rider will cycle over 200 km over two days. Day 1 starts at Lynwood Country Club, Pitt Town, heading up via Wiseman's Ferry to Mangrove Mountain, then cutting across into Magenta Shores. Day 1 is a 155 km ride and provides a substantial challenge for all riders. Day 2 is a loop up into Catherine Hill bay and takes cyclists another 60+ km.

This annual popular riding event is all about helping support ONE80TC and their efforts to turn lives around through the residential rehabilitation centres for men and women who have been caught in substance abuse and addiction.

This challenge not only tests your physical ability but mental capacity as well. Caldwell is passionate about riding each year, not because he loves cycling, but he believes in the cause. “It’s incredibly rewarding knowing that your time turning peddles can really make a difference to people’s lives,” says Caldwell.

Providence Medical Group (PMG) provides a holistic healthcare solution through its medical and dental centres located across the Hunter and Lake Macquarie region. “We take pride in providing excellence in healthcare through a quality health team and are thrilled to be able to support the local community and do our part where we can,” explains Caldwell.

We wish all the cyclists best of luck in supporting this worthy cause.
