THIS EVENT HAS NOW BEEN POSTPONED.

With heavy rain forecast this weekend, Central Coast Stadium has made the difficult decision to postpone its 20th Birthday celebrations scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday 8 February.

The conditions forecast for Saturday will make it unsuitable to move forward with the outdoor event.

The Stadium will announce the rescheduled event date next week.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused by postponing the event.

Flanked by its iconic palm trees and unique three-sided design, Central Coast Stadium is about to ring in its 20th anniversary in style with the community invited to join in the celebrations.

On Saturday 8 February the stadium will open its gates for a fun-filled day of celebration to mark this important milestone.

The first 300 people to attend will receive free ice-cream and 'chips on a stick'. Party goers will also have the opportunity to take part in a stadium tour, be entertained by live music, come face-to-face with reptiles from the Australian Reptile Park, whet their appetite at the various food stalls, enjoy many giveaways and chances to win great prizes including a Hamilton Island accommodation package, meet mascots from the South Sydney Rabbitohs, Sydney Roosters NRL and Central Coast Mariners and much more!

Central Coast Stadium Manager Kath Casey said the stadium has played an important part in the Coast's history and it is only fitting to celebrate the milestone in style.

"Over the past 20 years the stadium has seen many changes, however, it is now in the best shape it has ever been," Mrs Casey said.

"To date we have hosted more than 490 events and welcomed over 3.6million people through our gates.

"We are so proud of the calibre of events the Stadium has attracted to the region including Lionel Ritchie, NRL matches, Nitro Circus, Rugby Union and A-League games, and it's an absolute pleasure to go to work every day."

Mayor Lisa Matthews is urging the public to come along and enjoy the celebrations at the venue that has become an important part of entertainment on the Central Coast.

"From the opening game on 7 February 2000, and indeed even the years before it, the community has taken the Stadium to heart." Mayor Matthews said.

"Over the years it has hosted everything from professional sport teams to local grand finals, concerts, and our annual community Carols.

"It is a true asset to the community which has attracted attention throughout the Asia-Pacific region when it played host to some of Asian football's biggest names as well as staging Rugby Union and Rugby League World Cup games.

"There has been a lot of history made here over the last two decades and we want everyone to be part of the celebrations."
