Opera Australia Orchestra (Brass) Perform Alongside Central Coast's Top Youth Ensembles
The Central Coast Conservatorium’s Premier Ensembles opening concert for 2019 will be an incredible start to the year for our developing musicians. This concert will not only feature our Youth Orchestra and Symphonic Wind Ensembles but will also see the Brass Section of the Opera Australia Orchestra perform as special guests.
The Opera Australia Orchestra musicians, some of Australia’s finest professional brass players, will not only perform their own repertoire but will also workshop and then play alongside the Conservatorium’s developing artists to become part of our Premier Ensembles.
“This is a wonderful opportunity of our students to be mentored and inspired by these incredible musicians,” says Artistic Director Patrick Brennan.
Gérard Patacca, General Manager, Orchestra Opera Australia replied with, “being able to come and work with the Central Coast Conservatorium is special because the O |A Orchestra Brass players will be able to workshop with a talented group of students, then demonstrate their artistry on the concert stage.”
Premier Ensembles Concert #1 will feature the Central Coast Youth Orchestra, the Central Coast Symphonic Wind Orchestra and the Central Coast Primary Wind Ensembles and the Central Coast’s extraordinary special guests, the Opera Australia Orchestra Brass Section.
Some of the repertoire includes Pomp and Circumstance by Elgar, Morning Mood from Pier Gynt by Grieg, Light Cavalry, Greensleeves arrangement by Alfred Reed, The Greatest Showman arrangement by Paul Mertha.
