Moving Beyond Bushfire Trauma
Moving Beyond Trauma for bushfire affected communities
Recognising the need to help those with unresolved trauma wrought by the recent bushfires, Quest for Life's acclaimed program Moving Beyond Trauma is now available as an Interactive Online program delivered by our highly trained professional team.
Brendon O’Connor, Captain of Balmoral Village Rural Fire Brigade, with 21 years’ service fire-fighting says
"Fighting the fires over 2019/20 and the devastation that followed set me back in a lot of ways. I was in a dark place for quite a while."
"A fellow colleague told me about Quest for Life" Brendon continues.
"The Moving Beyond Trauma program changed my life in many positive ways. Every part of the program was relevant and has given me the strength, knowledge and tools to overcome the darkness I was in before arriving at Quest.
I learnt how to respond rather than react, which is not something I had ever done before, to think quickly and to get rid of my anger - I was holding a lot of anger after the fires in Balmoral. This was very empowering. The support from Quest was amazing. I wouldn’t be where I am without that support."
Support for people affected by fire and drought
With thanks to generous donations, Quest for Life can assist people deeply affected by the impact of fire and drought by offering subsidised places on our Moving Beyond Trauma (18-20 May) and Your Life Matters (25-27 May) programs.
Brendon shares his experiences in the hope that more people in need can attend Quest's life-changing programs. Hear more in his video below.
