Heavy rain forced the popular Love Lanes Festival to be cancelled but a rescheduled 'mini' version of the event on Friday 6 March promises to showcase the diverse and thriving Wyong Town Centre.

Mini Love Lanes Festival will feature live music across two lanes and two stages, roving entertainment, food and market stalls, a circus precinct plus more.

Council Section Manager Place Activation, Cobey Linsley said Mini Love Lanes Festival will be a unique outdoor festival featuring Wyong's hidden gems.

"Severe weather conditions meant that we could not proceed with Love Loves but our rescheduled version of the event - Mini Love Lanes Festival - will see the beautiful heritage laneways of Wyong and surrounds bustling with entertainment, art, culture and culinary experiences," Ms Linsley said.

"Event goers will even be able to take a virtual tour and experience what the buildings and streetscape of Wyong looked like 100 years ago."

Mayor Lisa Mathews said local business and community members are working closely with Council to make Mini Love Lanes Festival a success.

"Love Lanes has become a highlight on the Coast's event schedule and our smaller scale rescheduled version of the event promises to be just as much fun with a great program showcasing the Wyong's beautiful laneways," Mayor Matthews said.

"The profile of Wyong has changed dramatically in recent years and I'd encourage community members and visitors to come along to this great event and see what this thriving Central Coast town centre has to offer."

To help make this festival a success and safe for motorists and visitors alike, road closures will be in place at:

  • Alison Road (between Pacific Highway and Hely Street) 6am-11pm
  • Robley's Lane (between Pacific Highway and Hely Street) 6am-11pm
