10 Central Coast residents are Coast and Country Primary Care’s (CCPC) Mental Health Art Works Exhibition 2021 winners.

Mental Health Artworks, now in its 22nd year, highlight the talents of Central Coast residents touched by mental health.

“This year, we have entrants aged from 10 to 90 years with a variety of works from paintings, ceramics, sculpture, drawing, embroidery, and quilting to name a few,” said CCPC CEO Kathy Beverley.

This year there are almost 140 artworks on display in our exhibition which officially opened last Friday evening at Central Coast Gallery to celebrate the achievements of the artists.

“The therapeutic benefit of art for people with mental illness is well known and this exhibition is an extraordinary showcase of individual’s stories and experiences and amazing creative talents.

“CCPC is proud to be a major contributor to supporting people with mental illness on the Central Coast. We collaborate with our partners, including other NGOs, GPs, the Hunter New England Central Coast Primary Health Network and the Central Coast Local Health District, with whom we have a close partnership as funding and co-service providers,” Ms Beverley said.

“We pay special thanks to the Gosford Regional Gallery and The Entrance Community Centre for hosting us in 2021.

“We are extremely grateful for the support of our sponsors and judges from The Glen, Brisbane Waters Private Hospital, Central Coast Hunter New England PHN, Central Coast Local Health District, BaptistCare, Orana, Social Futures, and the Gosford Regional Gallery. We thank them for their commitment and time to support our artists.

“CCPC also sincerely appreciate the support received by Member for Dobell, Emma McBride, who attended our opening winner’s ceremony to support the artists.” Ms Beverley said.
