What happens when a world-renowned flautist and a West End musical theatre star join forces? A magical night of musical romance! This is exactly what legendary Australian flautist Jane Rutter, and internationally acclaimed musical theatre star Peter Cousens, are bringing to The Art House this September.

Evening Stars is a romantic journey through best-loved songs from Peter's starring roles in Phantom of the Opera, West Side Story, Camelot, Showboat, Aspects of Love, and Les Misérables and features luscious romantic pieces from Jane's 23 solo albums.

The Art House hosts this perfect night out for couples, anniversary celebrations, musical theatre fans, and lovers of classical music for one performance only. Miss Rutter is known for pioneering the trend of taking fine classical music to the people and has devoted her life to French flute playing over a career that spans decades.

"Instruments of the breath are closest to the heart. To make music from the act of breathing - it’s the earliest form of alchemy! We turn the breath that keeps us alive into the music that feeds our soul” Miss Rutter says.

The alchemy of Evening Stars brings to life the romance of popular classical pieces and romantic songs by some of the world’s greatest composers including Gershwin, Cole Porter, Massenet, Offenbach, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Ravel, Lehar, Lerner and Loewe, Bernstein and more!

Jane and Peter have both attained ‘National Treasure’ status in Australia and are a sensational duo, whose debut Sydney Opera House Concert Hall performance was a sell-out.

This endearingly intimate, witty take on all things romantic will leave you floating on cloud nine!
