Central Coast Council, in partnership with its contractor SoCares, is once again making it easier for locals to microchip their cat or dog by hosting a free microchipping day at its Erina and Charmhaven Animal Care Facilities this Saturday 18 November.

Local community members are encouraged to come along and have their pet microchipped free of charge. Relevant registration details can also be updated on the day, however fees may apply. Those in attendance will also be able to access responsible pet ownership advice or pick up a ‘Happy Pet Pack‘ of products.

Event details:

  • SoCares Central Coast Animal Facility, Erina
    Pateman Road, Erina 2250
    Saturday 18 November, 9am-3pm
  • SoCares Central Coast Animal Facility, Charmhaven
    2 Depot Road, Charmhaven 2263
    Saturday 18 November, 9am-3pm

No registrations are required – walk-ins accepted on the day.

Microchipping and registration are an important legal requirement when owning a pet and helps to ensure companion animals can be reunited with their owners should they become lost. It also assists Council's Animal Care Facilities to locate the owners of animals and rehome lost pets.

This is all part of Council’s aim to increase the number of microchipped, registered and desexed dogs and cats across the region.

Pet registration fees can be found here.
