Invitation to Author Talk – Annie and the Waves
Louise Lambeth is an Ocean Beach surf lifesaver who has written a children's surf safety book called "Annie and the Waves". Annie is now in colour illustration and almost ready for typesetting and printing. The book is designed to educate children and their families on how to stay safe at the beach.
The road to print has been a long, and often humorous one, and Louise has learnt a lot about being patient while writing a children's book.
The Central Coast community has played a large part in helping to get "Annie and the Waves" to illustration and now to the publication stage. This support has includes attending or donating to fund-raising events to pay for the illustrations, test reading the book, project management advice and most importantly by encouraging and not letting Louise give up when the tasks to publish became overwhelming.
Louise started this journey in 2012 but it wasn’t until 2014 when the Central Coast lost one of its youngsters in a tragic drowning at Pearl Beach that she focused and "Annie" started to become a reality.
You're invited to come along and meet Louise and hear about this journey at Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club on Sunday 29th July between 3 and 6pm. Entry by gold coin donation.
