ICCM Fighting Cancer at the Mingara Relay for Life
Relay for Life is a chance for the Central Coast community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer and to raise money to help save more lives.
What is ICCM?
A new, distinctly professional program delivered by Internationally Certified Lifestyle Medicine practitioner Dr Michelle Reiss (GP and Director at Mingara Medical) that combines the latest evidence-based research and best practice methods from the worlds of both medical and psychological science to deliver effective weight loss solutions and long-term change.
Dr Michelle Reiss is also the founder of “The Lifestyle Medicine Centre of Excellence” for weight loss, prevention and reversal of Diabetes 2, chronic fatigue and depressed mood and Central Coast's newest innovative hot spot “POD”- Place of difference, where popular health care events and seminars are accessible for Central Coast communities. Dr. Reiss is “really excited to have registered her ICCM team to participate in this year’s relay and is excited by the challenge and being able to make a difference in the local community”. Dr. Reiss has organised and is supporting a number of other local community events that demonstrates her passion for “changing your thinking and changing your life for the better”.
How does Relay for Life help our community?
Money raised at Relay For Life stays right here on the Central Coast, supporting local cancer patients and their families with Cancer Council NSW’s local support services like home help (cleaning, lawn mowing, meal service), providing legal and financial support, support groups and information, prevention and nutrition programs in our schools and of course research.
With an estimated 134,000 new cases of cancer expected to be diagnosed in Australia this year, we need every Australian to rally behind this worthy cause and help continue this vital work.
