Passionfruit Trio Perform World Music Concert
“Talented, impeccably precise and passionate, the trio draws the audience in closer, allowing a bond with the music which is both captivating and uplifting.” – Sandra Hatting, The Epoch Times
The Central Coast Conservatorium of Music in collaboration with Gosford Regional Gallery present an evening performance by master guitarist, improviser and awarded composer Guy Strazz.
Guy’s new innovative works continue to forge pathways between Latin, Indian, Classical, Jazz, Roots and Blues music covering exciting Rhythms and lyrical melodies.
A venture that began 20 years ago as a result of Guy’s Australian Council Music fellowship, the latest incarnation of Passionfruit Trio draws together bassist Michel Latumaelissa and percussionist Marharshi Ravel.
“Expect a focused and spontaneous performance from a synergetic trio", said Guy Strazz. "Expect energetic Latin driven pieces such as Afro Bouban to the elegance of Kathak Blues which blends the qualities of the Indian dance, kathak, with a sparse Indian style Blues progressions. Concert-goers can expect moments of virtuoso unison band passages and improvisation and at times the simplicity and intimacy of Hallelujah in a guitar bass duet or Fijiandia as a solo guitar piece.”
If you love acoustic sounds, Passionfruit Trio will definitely delight patrons with the sounds of classical India tabla and dolak drums, the Peruvian cajón, fretless acoustic bass, classical and electro acoustic guitars.
Guy Strazz Passionfruit Trio are raring to perform in their first gig at the Gosford Regional Gallery.
Come early, relax and enjoy pre-show wine and nibbles.
