Rufino & the Coconuts who will play a special all ages, afternoon show at the Naughty Noodle on Mothers Day (Sun 8 May)

no words can completely describe the theatrical performance that awaits you!’- Canberra Times

The marooned magical misfits of tropical goodtime, boneshaking, voodoo groove - Rufino and the Coconuts – are yearning to make musical love to your ears as the world’s foremost proponents of Voodoo rocksteady jungle-disco exotica-cabaret – veer off their Aussie tour to hit the Coast for one afternoon only when Rufino, crooner and violinist, from acclaimed European Kabaret ensemble Mikelangelo and the Black Sea Gentlemen, presents his acclaimed show of ‘tropical noir’ with a full 8-piece band to stir the bones and bring the hot tropics to Naughty Noodle Fun Haus.

The band of castaways, troubled geniuses and misfits in the rhythm-rich jungles, who form Rufino and The Coconuts recall Serge Gainsbourg's tropical recordings, Grace Jones' theatrical Caribbean groove and the primal stomp of The Birthday Party. It's the type of cultural melting pot beloved by cannibals as a morning soup!

The belated (rescheduled COVID) Great Southern Nights intentionally falls on Mother’s Day so if you celebrate it or not it’s the time to grab all the yummy mummies, mates, and more for a very special kooky all ages, Sunday Arvo of live music & performance that’s just the thing to transport you into the wild isle holiday you can't have just yet!

“Every show we have had this year has been touched in some way by COVID, either by artists being sick or a close contact, we have had to reschedule multiple events & performers and have learnt that rescheduled culture is better than cancelled culture! We feel very lucky and very much look forward to hosting this fabulous touring show. Rufino & the Coconuts are the Naughty Noodles spirit animals, a high energy, theatrical and original class act” says creative director Glitta Supernova.

“One of my Favourite bands” Simon Marnie from ABC Syd.

This is tropical Kabaret with heart, soul, humour, and mind-bending artistic vision so book a table now and see you on the dancefloor.

This is about connection, getting together, live music, dancing, and everything quirky and offbeat that sets you free. With that in mind there is of course dress code: Loud tropical prints, Tiki tour, P&OHH so good! So, get the sand off those Hawaiian shirts & Moo moos’ it’s time to smile, move and get silly!
