Our diversity is what makes Australia a fantastic place to live. Harmony Day is a celebration of our cultural diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home. On Saturday March 21st, Central Coast Council will hold its annual Harmony Day celebration, “Flavours by The Sea” at Memorial Park, The Entrance bringing together an array of stage performances, food, music and more for all to enjoy.

The years message for Harmony Day is ‘everyone belongs’, with the day aiming to engage people to participate in their community, respect cultural and religious diversity and foster a sense of belonging for everyone. Joining this year’s fantastic stall line up and injecting an exciting Indian flavour is Central Coast Diwali Association.

Led by passionate Wyong emergency doctor, Dr Shashi Kalava and joined by his fellow Indian colleagues at stand 9, the Central Coast Diwali Association will be giving the attendees a taste of what’s to come as they promote their own up and coming event, Coast Diwali being held in conjunction with the Lakes Festival in November. Dr Kalava explains “Harmony Day is a great way to celebrate multiculturalism in Australia. Central Coast Council kindly extended an invitation to showcase our event Coast Diwali. With the theme of flavours by the sea, it couldn't be more fitting to showcase and share flavours of Indian food and be part of Harmony Day”.

At this year’s Harmony Day festivities guests can savour the flavour and excite their tastebuds while experiencing all the different cultures on the coast through the community stalls, activations and music. Spice up your evening at the Central Coast Diwali Association dancing demonstration at 7:45pm-8:30pm.
