Central Coast Council is once again hosting ChromeFest, one of Australia’s biggest car shows and community events at The Entrance, Central Coast, from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 October.

Council Director Community and Recreation Service, Melanie Smith said ChromeFest is one of NSW’s largest rock ‘n’ roll and rockabilly festivals, paying tribute to all makes and models of cars pre-1979.

“Hundreds of car enthusiasts and rock ‘n’ roll fans will come together on the Central Coast for a three-day tribute to cars, chrome & tunes from the good ol’ days.

“We’re in the 16th year of hosting ChromeFest, with an exciting line-up of over 10 live bands across 5 stages, Chrome After Dark - a free Friday evening show in Memorial Park, a ticketed event Saturday night at Mingara, a Pin Up competition, Fashion Parades, stalls, displays, car cruises and much more,” Ms Smith said.

Saturday night’s ticketed event, Saturday Night Jive, is back in full swing featuring USA band, Lance Lipinsky & the Lovers. Lance is an unforgettable live entertainer with show-stopping boogie woogie piano antics that you don’t want to miss.

Council Administrator, Rik Hart said ChromeFest is one of Council’s major events. Annually, it attracts thousands of locals and tourists, fostering great community spirit and generating significant economic benefit for the region.

“Last year, approximately 50,000 locals and visitors to the Central Coast attended ChromeFest, injecting more than $11 million into our local economy and we expect that this year will be even bigger,” Rik Hart said.

“This major event with over 450 show cars, entertainment, and a retro vibe is a fun day out for all ages and provides a nostalgic trip down memory lane for many of our older residents.”

The range of experiences on offer this year include:

  • Show N’ Shine and iconic classic car displays
  • Retro market stalls, trade stalls and general market stalls
  • Five outdoor stages boasting undercover dancefloors and live entertainment
  • Vintage glamour fashion parade
  • The Australian Pin Up Pageant NSW Grand Final
  • The Entrance Social Hub
  • Roving entertainment
  • DJ stage
  • Paint N’ Chrome workshops
  • ChromeBar – located in the Bayview Mall and Short Street Carpark

Council is reminding community members and visitors to drive carefully when heading to The Entrance. Expect some delays and increased traffic due to road closures, which will be in place Saturday and Sunday of the event from 5am-5pm.
