With a whole new look, the Central Coast will once again celebrate multicultural diversity with Coastal Fusion hitting Terrigal in March.

Previously known as Flavours by the Sea, the culturally diverse event, coinciding with Harmony Week, supports the region’s multicultural community through performing and visual arts, interactive activities, workshops and culinary delights.

Central Coast Council Administrator, Rik Hart says Council is proud to support this revamped event and showcase to locals and visitors alike the extraordinary diverse community, and what they contribute in the way of food, entertainment and much more, to the Central Coast.

“The event in Terrigal in March has always been popular, and now with a new look and new offerings, it can only get better!”

The festival is a chance to showcase what Terrigal has to offer through its food offerings, with local eateries bringing their worldwide cuisines to the Terrigal streetscape, complemented by live music.

The line-up includes artists from all walks of life, with Kamilaroi and Tongan singer Radical Son bringing his mesmerising vocals and multi-award winning Latin Show Band Salsa Kingz closing the show.

Event organisers at JC Entertainment and Events are looking for local artwork to project onto buildings in the week leading into the festival, launching an Expression of Interest this month.

JC Entertainment and Events Owner, Emma Paulley says, “there is an extensive effort behind the scenes as we strive to deliver something exceptional for Terrigal. We're leveraging the talents of local businesses, artists, and musicians from the region and its surrounds.”

Partnering with the team this year is Heartdancers, the innovative arts and cultural organisation aiming to bring together a diverse tapestry of First Nations and culturally diverse artists.

Heartdancers Creative Director and CEO, Sandra Morales says it’s more than an event for the organisation, depicting stories of unity while utilising the arts as a universal language.

“Bringing this vibrant celebration to the region is crucial. It sparks an artistic dialogue that transcends boundaries, fosters understanding, and creates a harmonious blend of cultures where every performance becomes a celebration of our shared humanity.”

Temporary road closures and bus diversions will be in place along Terrigal Esplanade from 5am to 11pm, with impacts to Campbell Cresent, Kurrawyba Avenue and Ash Street. A free shuttle bus will be in operation.

The event gets underway on Saturday 23 March at 5pm along Terrigal Esplanade.
