Experience the magic of ChromeFest online
Whilst the physical event is not able to proceed due to COVID-19 restrictions, classic car enthusiasts and lovers of all things 1950s can experience event highlights through ChromeFest Overdrive TV.
Central Coast Council Director Community and Recreation Services, Julie Vaughan said the engine of ChromeFest will be kept humming this year as we transition to life with fewer measures in place to control COVID-19.
"ChromeFest Overdrive TV features some of the most exciting elements of ChromeFest and really is a must-experience online event," Ms Vaughan said.
"We all can't wait to get together in-person for fantastic events on the Coast but in the interim we will deliver some classic 1950s rock 'n' roll fun into the homes ChromeFest fans. So grab some takeaway from your local and tune in."
'ChromeFest Overdrive TV' highlights include:
- a trip down memory lane showcasing some highlights from previous years of the event
- ChromeFest bands and DJ playing live from a studio
- footage of the Sydney Swing Kats.
Council Administrator, Rik Hart said online events have been an important means for helping maintain wellbeing and provide a sense of connection during the challenges of lockdown.
"What better way to celebrate COVID-19 restrictions easing than by enjoying live rock 'n' roll and rockabilly from the comfort of your home," Mr Hart said.
"ChromeFest Overdrive TV is a fantastic initiative that will be thoroughly entertaining for all that tune in."
'ChromeFest Overdrive TV' will be live streamed for one day only - Saturday 23 October 2021, kicking off at 3:50pm. Stream on a range of platforms including vimeo.com and the ChromeFest Facebook page.
