ECHR Presents: Hawkesbury River Express and Brisbane Waters Limited Tour
With passengers being the number one focus, ECHR have developed beautiful scenic excursions, that are not accessible via other transport.
We are delighted to present you with the 'Hawkesbury River Express' tour, coupled with the option of a relaxing boat trip.
Discover Sydney’s best kept secret
ECHR are proud to relaunch our newest regular heritage rail tour: the Hawkesbury River Express, now linked with Brisbane Waters Limited! On a relaxing day tour behind a restored vintage diesel locomotive, featuring restored carriages from the ‘20s, ‘30s and ‘40s, the train picks up in the Illawarra and Sydney before passing through the spectacular Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park to the gateway of Sydney’s hidden scenic waterways – the Hawkesbury River. From here passengers have the option here to combine their train ride with a lunch cruise aboard the famous Riverboat Postman, alight at Woy Woy to board the iconic MV Lady Kendall II, or continue with the train to Gosford for lunch.
The Riverboat Postman has delivered mail and essentials 40km upriver from Brooklyn to gorgeous bays and pristine inlets of the Hawkesbury River since 1910, and now doubles as a tourist experience including a Ploughman’s lunch, complete with commentary about the local area and history from the skipper. The MV Lady Kendall II undertakes a 2.5 hour cruise of the majestic Brisbane Waters including export commentary and a buffet lunch, and is the only place in the world where you can enjoy five separate waterways in a single outing! Both vessels also feature licensed bars serving alcoholic refreshments.
Our train is equipped with a buffet serving tea, coffee, light refreshments and snacks during the trip. Join us for a truly relaxing day out! For more information, booking details and dates visit the website or call 1300 65 3801.
