CRAZY HAIR because WE CARE – A virtual crazy hair day fundraiser
These are crazy, unprecedented times, so what better way to entertain all of the children at home than a virtual crazy hair day!
Parents and guardians are invited to get creative and work your magic on your child’s hair! Hair gel, unique hair colours and even toys incorporated into kids’ hairstyles are all encouraged – use what ever you can find at home.
From pigtails, unicorn hair (yes, apparently that’s a thing), to minecraft, crazy scientists and surfer dudes… let’s have some crazy hair fun!

Why a virtual crazy hair because we care?
We Care Connect says no to childhood poverty, we have operated on the Central Coast for four years, supporting over 5,000 children. We care about the 10,000 children living in poverty throughout the Central Coast. We collect, sort and distribute pre-loved or purchased children’s items free to families in need. We provide support to vulnerable families by providing excellent quality children’s clothes, safety and nursery items through a professional network of community centres and family support agencies.
We support families such as:
- A mum and three kids fleeing domestic violence with only the clothes they stand up in
- A homeless 16-year-old about to have a baby – she has nothing
- A pensioner grandma suddenly caring for traumatised toddlers – without car seats she can’t even drive to the shops.
In the past four years, we have supported over 5,150 children distributing more than 118,000 clothing items - that could have otherwise gone to landfill. Over the last 12 months we have provided more than 63,433 items to 2,598 children in need. We support over 200 case workers from 70 family support programs throughout the Central Coast. We are 100% volunteer run.
