The Central Coast Respiratory Clinic, operated by local not-for-profit Central Coast Primary Care, has confirmed that testing of COVID-19 will continue on the Coast over the coming months.

Originally funded by the Federal Government for a three-months period ending mid-July, the clinic has been given the green light to continue COVID-19 testing until the end of September.

Central Coast Primary Care’s CEO, Michelle Bradbury says “With the situation in Victoria heating up over the past few weeks, we need to remain vigilant and continue to test people with mild symptoms in our local community”.

The clinic is a free, Federal Government Initiative, where people can be assessed and tested for COVID-19. The clinic is for anyone with mild to moderate symptoms such as cough, sore throat, or fever. Operating from the grounds of the EV Church on Terrigal Drive in Erina, the clinic is open from Monday to Saturday, 9:30am to 5:00pm.

Since the clinic opened on Friday 1st May, over 14,000 tests have been conducted with no positive result recorded. People presenting have ranged from just 6 weeks of age to people in their 90’s. With no referral needed to book, many people attending the clinic have been local healthcare workers, people working in the Aged Care, Disability and Child Care sectors as well as teachers and school students.

With cold and flu season underway and occurrences of local transmission increasing in New South Wales, anyone with flu-like symptoms is strongly encouraged to get tested for COVID-19. Bookings at the COVID-19 Respiratory Clinic are strongly recommended and can be made online at  Central Coast Primary Care or by calling the clinic on 0435 813 865.
