Coastal Twist Festival has been breaking regional boundaries since its launch in 2019 connecting the region’s LGBTIQ creatives with new opportunities, audiences and streams on a grand national scale so its no surprise the Coastal Twist Festival is back for 2021 with a theme that’s speaking to the times “Be the Change” - Taken from Gandhi’s quote: “Be the change you wish to see in the world” – Gandhi.

“If 2020 was the year of the pandemic, 2021 is the year of the revaluating how everything we have always thought would run to plan has to shift and how we all have to do our bit to adapt in order to survive. This year we are doubling our festival days and events running for 6 days and 11 activations and for the 2021 Coastal Twist Art exhibition we are ecstatic to have guest curator and Iconic photographer C.Moore Hardy whose photographs of Sydney's LGBTIQ  community span across 3 decades are an institution” stated Festival Director Glitta Supernova.

The Coastal Twist 2021 Art exhibition will run 29th September – 7th October at Jasmine Greens, Umina Beach and the much beloved festival is calling out to all LGBTIQ 2 & 3D Artists working in mediums from Painting, Photography Printmaking, to Collage, Ceramics, Drawing, Sculpture and other mediums to submit their work or idea for possible inclusion and sale by deadline 30th August.

The Festival Director added “There’s excitement, everything comes to life and the noise levels go up as soon as we start getting the word out that Coastal Twist is back for 2021 which is a great thing.  We are trying to create amazing experiences for all ages, family types, abilities and this Arts exhibition will launch out this year festival which will see multiple events from live music, to theatre, film to Sport. In particular the Coastal Twist Art Exhibition is intentionally designed to showcase LGBTIQ Central Coast artists to local, state wide and national audiences through artwork that is expressing their interpretation of ‘CHANGE’ in a curated exhibition that’s going to reflect (some of) the diversity of our LGBTIQA+ lives. The response to date has been overwhelming”

The deadline to submit your work (or concept) is 30 Aug 2021 & worked to be finished & hung by 27 September so get those creative juices flowing & apply now here
