The incredibly hardworking and committed team at Coast Sport were truly delighted and honoured to be recently named as the winner of the ‘Start up Superstar’ category of Central Coast Business Excellence Awards 2017.

"We are so grateful for all the support from all our family, friends and patients," says Matthew Cranney, Director of Coast Sport. He goes on to state that "we look forward to working towards even bigger things in the future and appreciate all our patients and partners continued support."

The Central Coast Business Excellence Awards [CCBEA] are the most prestigious and recognisable business awards held on the Central Coast. They are inclusive of the two local government areas; Gosford City Council and Wyong Shire Council.

Conducted annually the Awards program celebrates business excellence and honours Central Coast industry leaders through the acknowledgement of innovative business processes, product development, enterprise, sustainability and overall business success. This year the Gala Business Awards dinner event was held on Saturday August 26th at the Terrigal Crowne Plaza. Here all the finalists were able to enjoy a night of delicious food and entertainment whilst basking in their achievements as high performing Central Coast businesses.

Co-Director of Coast Sport, Brett Doring, was unfortunately unable to attend the awards evening as he was busy supporting the Australian Swim Team in Indianapolis at the FINA Junior World Championships followed by travelling with the Paralympic Swim Team. Brett was also a member of the Aussie medical team supporting the athletes competing in the Paralympics Games in Rio, and the Australian Dolphins Swim team at FINA world championship short course earlier this year. He also recently travelled to The Youth Commonwealth Games in the Bahamas with the Aussie team. The Practice Manager of Coast Sport, and key player on the Central Coast Heart Netball team, Amorette Wild attended in Doring’s absence and was "thrilled and incredibly proud" of their business award achievement.

Other associations and organisations that have chosen Coast Sport as their preferred allied health provider include but are not limited to; the Central Coast Academy of Sport, Central Coast Mariners FC and Women’s Academy, Central Coast Heart Netball, Central Coast Crusaders and even local private school, Central Coast Grammar School.

The story behind Coast Sport

The Directors of Coast Sport, Matthew Cranney and Brett Doring have always had a keen interest in sports and are athletes themselves. Brett and Matt also studied Sports Science and Physiotherapy between 2004-2008. Upon graduating, they both commenced working in sports coverage together and decided when the right opportunity arose, they would open a practice together.

Specific to Coast Sport was the concept that Athletes and members of the community would not have to travel to Sydney to access world class facilities and services.

The driving force behind Coast Sport is to cater to need, not location. Being long time locals of the Central Coast, Matt and Brett are aware that the Central Coast is home to a diverse range of professional and amateur athletes that require specific services to perform to their highest capacity. From this concept Coast Sport as a business was created.

Coast Sport are also actively involved and supporting local sports and fitness events including the up and coming Raw Challenge, SportFest 2017, Bouddi Coastal Run and Mingara Relay for Life just to mention a few. Coast Sport are the major sponsor of the midnight race, part of the Cancer Council Mingara Relay for Life being held on 14th October.
