Central Coast NSW is hosting 23 Great Southern nights gigs across November in a month-long NSW Government, Destination NSW initiative celebrating Music month and further kick-starting the recovery of the live music industry and across the coast there has been non-bigger to date than the Naughty Noodle Fun Haus event which kicked off on Sunday 15th with “Girls on the Green”.

With an outdoor max COVID capacity of 500 Sunday marked the biggest Music event the Central Coast has seen in 8 months and potentially the largest Great southern nights gig for the Coast. The all ages event in partnership with Everglades Country club Woy Woy opened to a massive COVID safe crowd with the innovative 16sq metre pods sitting 8 per booking and spaced at 1.5 metres apart being setup across the bowling greens with BYO umbrellas, beach chairs, sunhats and optional kaftans and Hawaiian shirts.

“We have learned a lot about what it takes to create a COVID safe event and it was our intention to in fact exceed expectation, we did this via a mix of the right tools for wellness checking, QR scanning compliance as well as the right team who understand the balance of people wanting to do what people do best, connect and have fun, and of course the mindfulness to care about our community wellbeing and future.” Stated Naughty Noodle Chair Juan Iocco

“The Coast has again voted with bums on seats, it’s no coincidence that the largest COVID safe Music event on the coast to date also happens to be focused on visible inclusion. Women are still under represented across all aspects of the music industry, we took a punt and featured all female superpower line-up, not only did we sell out we had a waiting list to boot! “The all ages, all-inclusive event featured Girl Power from across the Coast with major names who happen to be locals including Nicki Bennett (Helen Ready Story) and charting Pop Electronic indie singer Tessa Thames (Microwave jenny / Triple J unearthed), with 50% aboriginal artists it was also a great finish to NAIDOC week.

“Beyond all the fun, food and icy drinks there were multiple health, community and economic development wins here for the Central Coast from breaking isolation, to experiencing Arts and Culture in the live and supporting our local economy - from tech crew, equipment hire to clubs and artists.  A phenomenal 23% of our Audience on the day coming into the region for the gig from as far south as Wollongong, and as far North as Lismore, then right across Maitland and Cessnock, even Lawson. That tells us as we are hitting the right mark in our offering with Sydney even beating out Newcastle as our largest visiting audience, we couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome for the region.”

Regional tourism is the new must do and the Naughty Noodle wants to ensure the Central Coast is well positioned with edgy, contemporary, inclusive Arts, Culture and Music – you don’t have to wait for Sydney or Melbourne to be the first to offer something great, as a region we can lead the possibilities for dynamic innovative happenings that drive economic benefits for the region.”

“We prayed for sun and we got that, it was a hot day on the green but the audience was super behaved, super fun and we chair danced the afternoon away”
