Leading Australian whisky distillery, Amber Lane, has taken out the Champion Single Malt Whisky award at the 2024 Sydney Royal Distilled Spirits Show.

Amber Lane beat out several iconic Australian whisky brands to take out the top prize for its Alchemical Series - Water expression, receiving the trophy at a ceremony in Sydney on Tuesday night.

In the single malt whisky category, Amber Lane took out four of the five top spots, receiving gold medals for its Alchemical Series - Water, Alchemical Series - Quintessence, Equinox, and Pineau 350.

Just seven gold medals were handed out in the category, making Amber Lane one of the top awarded distilleries of the show.

The Sydney Royal Distilled Spirits Show officially launched this year, aiming to bring innovation to the Australian distilled spirits industry.

Amber Lane Distillery co-owner Rod Berry said the awards cemented Amber Lane’s status as one of Australia’s greatest whisky producers.

“To receive so many gold medals and the Champion trophy demonstrates our commitment to producing outstanding Australian whisky. Our whiskies are now renowned both across Australia and internationally as some of the best in the world - it’s the best feedback we could possibly receive.”

Amber Lane Distillery is one of Australia’s most awarded whisky producers. Since its launch, the distillery has quickly become renowned for its large premium barrels, longer maturation cycles and the careful application of principles learned from European distilling traditions.

Amber Lane whiskies are available via here, along with a range of independent bottle shops and selected Dan Murphys’ stores in NSW and the ACT.
