Butter Up and Bake a Change

RSPCA is calling on animal lovers to bake a change in the fight against animal cruelty for this year's annual Cupcake Day on 26 October.

Last year, 8,142 super sweet people signed up to host a Cupcake Day in their homes, schools and workplaces to raise some much-needed dough for animals in need.

The annual fundraiser has moved to a new spring-time date due to ongoing community health and safety concerns.

“This year has been incredibly challenging for everyone. Here at RSPCA NSW, we remain committed to our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals who have nowhere else to turn,” said RSPCA NSW Fundraising Senior Manager Phoebe Brasher.

“Cupcake Day is so important in ensuring we can continue this vital work because we can only continue this with the help of the community."

“We want everyone to be as safe as possible and we hope this new date gives everyone a little extra time to perfect their baking skills!”

RSPCA NSW receives less than two per cent of their funding from the state government each year. Funds raised through Cupcake Day will help keep shelters open and inspectors on the road investigating animal cruelty complaints. Donations will also help fund prosecutions against cruelty offenders and important programs that support the most vulnerable members of our communities and their pets.

Cupcake Day is officially on Monday 26 October, but hosts can celebrate with an event on any day throughout the month.

Animal lovers and sweet tooths should preheat their ovens and pre-register now, and download the host guide, special recipes and pawsome promotional material.
