Australia's maestros of kidult comedy - The Listies
(*rolling on the floor laughing so hard a little bit of wee comes out!)
Gratuitous, ridiculous, hilarious, joyous and possibly hazardous, Rich and Matt are The Listies, Australia’s maestros of kidult comedy, a multi-award-winning duo who win over everyone who comes to see them with their insane, interactive, illogical and irreverent escapades and they are on their way to The Art House Theatre in Wyong.
Pitched at children aged 5+ and their parents, their bonkers comedy extravaganza of epic proportions, ROFLSHALBOWCO or Rolling on the Floor Laughing So Hard a Little Bit of Wee Comes Out is jam packed with magically stupid stuff guaranteed to make anyone laugh so hard that they may indeed need to bring a towel.
The Listies stormed onto the kids’ comedy scene in 2009 with The Listies More Fun Than a Wii, the only children’s show to ever be nominated for the prestigious Melbourne International Comedy Festival Barry Award for best show. Since then, the duo has toured throughout Australia, the UK, Malaysia, South Korea and even Wollongong; produced five new shows including Hamlet: Prince of Skidmarks with Sydney Theatre Company; published two books with Penguin and released three comedy albums. They are currently working on their third book.
Fans of the pair will know what they’re in for and kids can enter a suitably irreverent colouring competition to win Listies prize packs that include copies of their books and signed posters. Entries will be hung in the Art House foyer (see the Art House website for more details).
No-one else does comedy for kids this brilliantly, and what’s more the adults have just as much fun!

When I saw The Listies, it affected my thinking because I really related to the comedy craft they were exercising…it got me a little bit excited to realise that when you are performing for kids, it’s just as delicate and just as sophisticated.
