Fatigue is one of the biggest causes of fatalities on our roads. In NSW, around 20 per cent of fatal road accidents involve driver fatigue.

Toll Driver Reviver sites have been operating on roads around Australia for almost 30 years, dedicated to reducing fatigue and promoting safe driving behaviours by encouraging motorists to take regular breaks on their journey at Toll Driver Reviver sites.

National Director, Toll Driver Reviver, Allan McCormac said, “With the holiday season upon us, it’s critical for road users to understand the dangers of driver fatigue. With almost 200 driver reviver sites around the country, there is plenty of reason to stop for a break from a long journey.”

Toll Group Managing Director, Michael Byrne said that Toll understands the importance of safe driving, with the company operating 3,000 heavy vehicles across Australia.

“Our drivers spend more time on the roads than anyone, travelling more than 300 million kilometres each year,” Mr Byrne said.

“At Toll, we strongly believe that all injuries are preventable and everyone has the right to get home safely. As road users, it’s vital that we are situationally aware so that we can respond to changes in our surroundings. We also need to be self-aware, such as recognising when we need a break from driving."

Toll Driver Reviver sites are staffed by volunteers providing refreshments to drivers and their families. Volunteers come from a wide range of organisations including Lions Clubs, the SES, Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA) and the Rural Fire Service (RFS) and have served more than 23 million cups of tea and coffee, boiled more than five million litres of water, and provided drivers and their families with more than 27 million snacks.
