Central Coast News
The Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Martin Short 80's Classic, “Three Amigos!” is Coming to the Central Coast in June
stage for the first time in Australia. The cult classic was
adapted for stage by american theatre company “Stageworks” in
2016, and they’ve granted Salt House the first Australian license.
With an entirely Coast based cast, audiences can expect all the
antics of the feature film, high wire stunts, gunfire, absurdity,
hilarity, romance, and a plethora of surprises.
Lucky Day (Ethan Dale), Dusty Bottoms (Jayden Gobbe), and Nerrida ‘Ned” Nederlander (Emily Mann) have their Hollywood contract terminated and head to Mexico to put on a show for the villagers in Santo Poco. The problem is, the confused Amigos have actually been hired to rid the village of the deadly bandit, El Guapo (Ryan Bates).
“Three Amigos!” is whip-smart, contains inspiring slapstick wordplay, is spectacularly silly, and takes on delights such as the sassy singing bush, an invisible swordsman, and ruthless lawbreaking bandits.
“Three Amigos!” has a warmth that has nothing to do with the blazing desert sun. Even the bad guys are loveable, while the lead trio have the kind of easy chemistry that can’t be faked.
Female lead, Emily Mann is a professional show jumper who has performed at the Easter show for the past 8 years in a row, placing her in Australia's top 20! Jayden Gobbe is a recent acting graduate from Newcastle University and has been accepted into NIDA. Ethan Dale is currently studying acting for screen and stage. Director Daniel Widdowson serves as a judge for the Australian Writers Guild. Co-Director Belle Parsonage is coming off the back of stage managing the highly successful Pride & Prejudice in 2016.
Two shows only at the Art House Wyong.
